Pure Honesty...

Well, I have decided that if you ever want pure honesty for the answer to questions, all you have to do is ask--ask your 2 and 5 year old, or better yet, look to the faces of your young women at church!! I have asked my children questions just so I could get the truth!! I have asked the worst question of all, and that is "Do you think mommy is fat?" Well, me knowing the obvious answer, the kids answer "No mom, you are just bigger." When asking if they like my new haircut, they answer "You got your hair done? I thought you just washed it!!" Now they do have their sweet moments, when they discover something, like "Mom, are you crying happy tears?" Or, like my sweet little 7 year old said "Patience mom." (This coming after I had a long talk with her about being patient and kind to her siblings!") Kids are the best. They make you laugh and cry, but they are truly telling you the truth, without the thought of offending you or making you cry!! They don't know how to protect people from the hurt of maybe being too honest!! My 5 year old asked, in regards to her uncle--"Why isn't her married? He is silly to live at grandma's house for such a long time. He is a boy, and he should have a girlfriend to like him a lot. Why doesn't he find her and marry her. Then they can have lots of babies like you!!" I adore my kids honesty. I often look to them for the truth. There is no "breaking it to you easily." It is the cold hard facts!! On the flip side--you can always read somebodies face! Like my young women girls! I had a picture of me and my husband on the table. It was from the night that we got engaged. They all gasped as they realized that it really WAS me!! They had me pass it around, and their faces spoke volumes!! One girl said "You guys looked like Ken and Barbie!!" Which is a great compliment, but all I heard was 'LOOKED', past tense!! I guess I asked for it!! So, my advice to all is, ask with caution, but if you want the truth, go to the children in your life!! The truth may just set you free!!!

The BEST is after having a baby, and one of your other children asks you--after a Jenny Craig commercial-- "Mom, are you going to do that?"

This is one of the reasons I have a limited number of friends...I'm honest, and some people just can't take it!!

My little girl loves to pat my stomach and say " I love your big tummy."

I just say thank you and know, if I want the comments to stop, I need to get up off my fat ..... and exercise!

The worst is when they say things in front of other people who I don't want things mentioned in front of!
